Jackson Academy conducted a special ceremony Thursday that focused on the school’s Honor Code. Upper School students and faculty members joined Head of School Palmer Kennedy, Head of Upper School Brandi Richardson, Honor Council Advisor Sandra McKay, and Honor Council Chair Connor Gee in the Performing Arts Center as these leaders presented the ideals of the Jackson Academy Honor Code.

The Lady Raiders Volleyball team has a storied history, nearly dominating volleyball since the school started the program in the 2011-12 school year. Now the six-time state champion Lady Raiders have been invited to Orlando to play in the Nike Tournament of Champions.
If all the roads turned into rivers, what would you do? That doesn’t seem like a typical career-related question. Still, students answered it and many other career assessment questions last week during Jackson Academy’s new life skills classes.
Football coaching legend Vince Lombardi once said, “Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.” This summer, three JA students set aside opportunities to rest and play to hone their leadership skills and prepare to serve within their communities.

“The antidote to busyness of soul is not sloth and indifference,” Christian author Kevin DeYoung writes in his book Crazy Busy. “The antidote is rest.” At each chapel gathering in Jackson Academy’s Lower, Middle, and Upper School, students and faculty pause in prayer amid a full school day to breathe in worship and reflect on a message drawn from the Bible.
Jackson Academy announced Friday evening at the first Raider football game that $3.62 million has been pledged in the school’s capital campaign to initiate campus and academic improvements.
Whether the school year ends with the ring of a bell, the final period written on a paper, or the last “Submit”-button clicked on a screen, summertime offers compelling opportunities for rest and recreation. It also provides opportunities for personal development.
