For the third time this year, Jackson Academy had a banner day for the Class of 2022 on December 15 as two more seniors signed papers that will allow them to continue their academic and athletic careers next year at Mississippi State University and MUW.
At the Jackson Academy kindergarten cottage’s deck, a plain white wall provided the canvas for a new collaborative art installation. Kindergarten-sized handprint flowers now grow there.
The Lady Raiders’ December 7 win over Richland High School cinched Head Varsity Basketball Coach Jan Sojourner’s 1,000th career win. One of Mississippi’s winningest coaches, Sojourner is in her 37th year at Jackson Academy.
A JA sophomore and four Jackson Academy alumni contributed to a documentary released last month on Mississippi Public Broadcasting. JA helped celebrate their work with a film screening and installation of 10 Walter Anderson originals on loan for the day from the Mississippi Museum of Art.
Jackson Academy’s fall athletes played exciting and rewarding seasons this semester. This week, we recognize the girls soccer teams. As more information is submitted by teams, we will publish the results of those seasons. Congratulations to each student athlete and team on their accomplishments!
