Caldecott Medal-winning author Philip C. Stead joined K5 and first grade classrooms via Zoom last Thursday! Organized by Preschool librarian Ali Dinkins and in partnership with Lemuria Books, Stead video chatted with Lower School students to help promote the importance of reading and writing, which is crucial to the Jackson Academy curriculum.
The Jackson Academy Ducks Unlimited (DU) Chapter was in full swing last Monday evening as they held their fourth annual chapter banquet at Bridlewood of Madison. Greetings, stories and hunting tales were swapped for nearly an hour as everyone gathered for the start of an evening that kicked off with a viewing of the silent and live auction items up for bid along with the evening’s raffle offerings.

Congratulations to the Jackson Academy Lady Raiders volleyball team for winning the MAIS Overall Volleyball Championship. It is the team’s seventh state title since the program began at JA in the 2011-12 school year.
In July, Jackson Academy Performing Arts’ students arrived for the first rehearsal of Broadway’s adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella wearing T-shirts and shorts. This week, they’ll don lustrous costumes and elaborately coif their hair, accessorizing with hats and gloves before stepping onto a stage set for magic to unfold.
