Words of Wisdom to Kick off the Year

Before students arrive each fall, teachers and staff busily prepare the classrooms and the campus. During Teacher Work Week, a pause to this pace occurs for a gathering of all faculty and staff. This year, the group heard inspiring messages from the Executive Director of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Dr. Jim Futral, JA Board of Trustees Chair Scott Pedigo, and JA Head of School Jack Milne.

Seventh Graders Raft the Okatoma

River water enveloped their senses – the smell, feel, sight, sound, and, sometimes, the taste of it – as seventh graders fought to navigate the current. The seventh grade took a trip to the Okatoma River last Friday, participating in a day-long canoeing excursion where students are encouraged to develop resilience and teamwork as they overcome challenges with the help of others.
