Twelve Jackson Academy students crossed the Performing Arts Center stage today to receive the Cum Laude Society pin, indicating superior academic achievement. They joined previous student and faculty Cum Laude inductees of JA’s chapter, one of only four Cum Laude charters granted in Mississippi.
Students in Jackson Academy’s senior class served in five locations throughout the community Thursday for Senior Service Day. Seniors volunteered at the Mississippi Food Network, We Will Go, Stewpot Clothing Closet, Madcaap Clothing Closet in Madison, and the JA Preschool.
Mississippi State University awarded JA senior Ella Boykin with the selective METP (Mississippi Excellence in Teaching) scholarship. This highly competitive scholarship requires applicants to complete an essay, receive teacher recommendations, and participate in an on-campus interview.
In a world of constant change, dedication and consistency are inspiring. Jackson Academy has a tradition of recognizing employee commitment by celebrating service in five-year increments. Those reaching these milestones have the opportunity to direct a financial contribution from JA towards a cause they care about, enriching the school and its community. Employees with 25 years or more receive a plaque and recognition, honoring their legacy.
The March issue of Mississippi Christian Living magazine features 30 students who were named as a Christian Leaders of the Future for 2025. Jackson Academy’s Aniyah Brown and Law Stanley are among the students featured.
Seniors Brooke Dennis and Law Stanley have been named Mississippi State University Presidential Scholars. Each year MSU gives its most prestigious scholarship to a small number of its most outstanding incoming freshmen who demonstrate excellence in academics, test scores, and high school and community leadership. The scholarship covers their tuition and housing for four years of undergraduate study and significant stipends for study abroad and undergraduate research. The 2025 Presidential Scholarship was awarded to 40 students from a pool of more than 700.
he Junior Philanthropist Club strives to educate its communities and become engaged in various environmental issues within the community and state. The club aids in protecting and preserving the environment, engaging with its communities through various activities, and learning more about how to become environmental leaders and advocates.
Coaches, faculty, and staff challenged Upper School students to a game of hoops, and it was a nail-biter! The Student Government Association helped organize the Faculty-Student Basketball Game to support local service projects, such as Education Matters Tutoring.
The National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. On Wednesday, February 19, JA inducted 49 Upper School students and 28 Middle School students.
