Coaches, faculty, and staff challenged Upper School students to a game of hoops, and it was a nail-biter! The Student Government Association helped organize the Faculty-Student Basketball Game to support local service projects, such as Education Matters Tutoring.
The National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. On Wednesday, February 19, JA inducted 49 Upper School students and 28 Middle School students.
JA’s theatre department wowed the Upper School with their performance of “No Fury,” an original play by Director of Performing Arts Kerri Sanders. After earning a standing ovation from their peers, the cast now sets their sights on THESCON, where they will compete at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian this Friday.
Leaders of the Nissan North America and Thinkfast Interactive Awareness Teen Driver Initiative told the Upper School student body a few things students already knew about driving and many things they did not. It all happened during a Friday fast-paced, interactive game-show-style event in the PAC auditorium.
Mamie Barton received a letter with good news in early February. Then a second notice of good news arrived shortly thereafter. Mamie had achieved two top awards from the Girl Scouts of the USA.

Jackson Academy students and faculty competed in the Mississippi Theatre Association State Festival January 16-19 in Meridian. They returned with numerous individual and group awards in multiple categories for both student and adult participants, including a perfect score in Musical Duet. The group’s earlier performance at the December Mississippi Theatre Association’s DramaFest earned the opportunity to advance to this statewide festival.
Congratulations to six JA students for their recognition at Scholastic Art Competition 2025. Scholastic received more than 1,100 entries from 400 students in this year’s statewide competition.
Twelve Jackson Academy alumni returned to campus on Monday to share what they have learned during their first semester of college. Sponsored by the JA College Counseling Office, this event helps upcoming graduates prepare for their next steps after graduation.
Jackson Academy’s Test Prep course students are experiencing notable advances in their ACT scores. From August to December 2024, all students in the class made strides in testing.
