Recently, first graders learned a vast amount of knowledge about potential careers. On Friday morning, parents and students gathered in the Performing Arts Center to see how hard these first-grade Raiders had been working.
The JA golf team secured the MAIS 6A State Championship for the fifth time in school history! Freshman John Markow also clinched the Individual State Championship with an impressive final score of 68 (-4), making it his third straight state title.
Last week, Jackson Academy recognized students who were selected for various end-of-the-year awards, including senior Beauties, Beaus, and Class Favorites.Chosen Most Beautiful was Mary Elise Lowe and Most Handsome was Merritt Nations.
This year, Jackson Academy’s Lower School raised $10,859.72 and purchased 85 animals ranging from water buffalo to honeybees. This is the Lower School’s sixteenth year to raise money to benefit Heifer International.
The Class of 2023 enjoyed a highly-anticipated senior week. Seniors had a theme each day with various treats, creating new memories to share with their classmates. Monday, seniors gathered on the red carpet at the Met Gala in the PAC.
Jackson Academy has awarded this year’s Distinguished Alumni Award to Ashley Edmonson Willson ’87. The award is presented annually to an alumna or alumnus leading a life of purpose and significance through professional achievement, service to the community, or loyalty to JA. Eligible nominees are JA graduates who have been an alumna or alumnus for at least 10 years before being nominated for the Distinguished Alumni Award.
Congratulations to the many Upper School students honored at Senior Awards Night on Monday and at Upper School Awards Day for ninth through eleventh grades Tuesday morning. At both ceremonies, parents and family members in the audience cheered on those students who earned top grades, character and service awards, scholarships, and honors awarded by their peers.
This year’s Alpha and Omega Spring Picnic was loads of fun for everyone. Buddies reminisced about their memories from this school year. Kindergarten buddies have gone to senior graduation
activities, been given rides to school, and so much more.
Last week, an Academic Signing Day took place for the seniors who are attending colleges and universities throughout the United States. Of the 22 students who participated in this signing day, six students also signed athletic scholarships.
