Last Thursday, 20 students traveled to Columbus, Mississippi, to represent Jackson Academy at the annual MSMS Math Competition. After meeting virtually last year, the students were glad to be able to compete in person this year.
Jackson Academy theatre students participated this past weekend in ThesCon 2022 at the Riley Center in Meridian. They competed in Tech Challenge, Chapter Select, and Thespys, in addition to attending workshops presented by industry professionals. Congratulations to this year’s award winners!
The Raiders entered the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Division 1 Soccer Semifinals, advancing to the State Championship Game yesterday. The Raiders won their second straight State Championship beating Hartfield Academy 4-2 for JA’s 10th State Soccer title.
The National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Today, JA inducted 29 Middle School students and 59 Upper School students.
Students at Jackson Academy are observing Black History Month throughout February with study, activities, and art recognizing Black men and women throughout history.
Each year, Mississippi Christian Living magazine, in partnership with Belhaven University, recognizes high school seniors as future Christian leaders. We are pleased to announce that three JA students were chosen amongst many other finalists. Regan Felder, Anna Carlisle Nichols, and John Wicks III will be recognized on March 1 at Belhaven University.
Showchoir season is upon us, and Jackson Academy’s Showtime and Encore are hard at work with the preparation and performance of their shows.
Defining STEM is a simple task. It is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. But its simplicity ends there. STEM is much more than a catchy buzzword that seeks to combine the four subjects under a single umbrella.
It’s not a question of which team is going to win, it is a question of which organization influences the most viewers. That’s one thing Bronwyn Burford’s Financial Management Class will consider when they complete a unit on “How Advertising Influences Consumer Spending” leading up to the Super Bowl.
