JA has been the standard bearer in volleyball for over the past decade, having appeared in every title game since 2012. The Lady Raiders are the only team to have ever won four straight titles and to do it twice – from 2014-2017 and from 2019-2022. Volleyball also has a four year run on the Mississippi Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year.
The Jackson Academy Carnival was a huge success. Our football field was teeming with activity, from bull-riding to putt-putt golf and face-painting. Thank you to everyone who came out for the fun, food, and fellowship, and to the JAA for putting on an incredible event.
“Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure” drew the curtain on its third and final performance Monday night. The 1,800+ audience members saw a fabulous show featuring 46 performers. Behind the scenes, about a dozen crew members amplified the story by managing dramatic sets and staging.
Jackson Academy is pleased to announce the first quarter Honor Roll and Academy Honor Roll for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Enchanted audiences will be gazing up as Peter Pan and the Darling children fly away to adventures in Neverland. Behind the curtain, crew members will be watching above as they coordinate the fly system.
Several years ago, a group of students felt the call to establish a student-led retreat. That initial retreat has become a tradition at Jackson Academy.
As adults, when we see children misbehave or act out, we often view these situations as opportunities to teach them about different ways to handle conflict or manage crises. In doing so, they learn that although some circumstances may be beyond their control, their reactions and subsequent behavior are not. The overuse of technology by school-aged students is a concern many parents share.
A whirlwind of events made homecoming weekend one of the most exciting times on the JA campus. All week, students dressed in themes leading up to Friday’s Spirit Day and homecoming festivities.
Many grandparents of Middle School students traveled to JA Thursday to get a glimpse of modern school life… and to remember their own school days. They cheered at a JV pep rally where they participated in a Hula Hoop contest.
Congratulations to the Lady Raider Soccer Team for winning the team’s second title in the last three years. They beat Jackson Prep 2-1 in the MAIS DI State Championship.
