The Lady Raiders traveled to Clinton to face the Warriors of Clinton Christian Academy without one of their key starters tonight. In a closely fought game, the Lady Raiders didn’t give up the lead until late in the 3rd inning due to some untimely errors. Logging 4 errors over 5 innings, the Lady Raiders trailed 3-4 from the 4th and into the 5th inning where one of those errors, along with some well placed hits, extended the lead as well as extended the inning into the game time limit. The Lady Raiders were denied the opportunity to answer in the 6th inning due to the game ending after the 1:30 hr time limit, which resulted in a final score of Clinton Christian Academy 7, Jackson Academy 3.
Columbia Holeman, Ashton Berry and Robyn Hadden each added a hit and with Berry and Hadden’s 2 RBIs, they pushed Holeman and Delaney Wallace across the score plate 2 times. Holeman also reached home on a Clinton Christian error to provide the 3rd and final Lady Raider run of the game.
Holeman was efficient from inside the pitcher’s circle averaging just over 17 pitchers per inning in her first career start as a Lady Raider pitcher. She was an active defender as well, logging a double play, 3 put outs and 5 assists.
