JA Band performing at the MAIS Concert Band Festival
Congratulations to the JA Band for an outstanding performance at the MAIS Concert Band Festival March 28.
The band received straight Superior ratings from all judges, and many positive comments as well. David Willson, Director of Bands at Ole Miss, said the band was mature, musical, and well taught. He also said it was “time to spread the word about the excellence of this program.”
A special part of the performance was the presentation of “Legacy: The Leadership & Vision of Peter Jernberg,” an original piece composed by Jason Mathena and comissioned by the JA Band to honor Mr. Jernberg. Mr. and Mrs. Jernberg were in the audience for the presentation of the piece.
