Congratulations to Jackson Academy’s 2026 senior beauties and beaux, who were recognized during Senior Awards Night, an annual event that honors seniors selected for a variety of end-of-the-year awards.
Jackson Academy earned a Prism Award from the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, one of the organization’s highest honors in professional communications. The award for JA’s 2025 Communication Survey was presented at PRAM’s annual conference in April at the Mill Conference Center in Starkville.
Lemuria Books brought Sherri Duskey Rinker, author of the beloved Construction Site series, to Jackson Academy, where kindergarten through second graders were among the first school children to hear her newest book, Construction Site Firefight, read aloud by the author herself.
The Class of 2026 marked Senior Awards Day last Tuesday with two celebrations: an awards presentation in the Performing Arts Center and a dinner at the Old Capitol Inn featuring an address by the Rev. Wes Ingram ’94 of Oxford, this year’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year. The day’s honors included the induction of students into the Hall of Fame.
Former U.S. Representative Gregg Harper brought both wisdom and candor to Jackson Academy’s Academic Signing Day, offering seniors a send-off filled with life lessons to begin their next chapter. His remarks touched on faith, relationships, and the responsibilities that come with living in a connected world.
Each spring, Upper School AP Art students display selected pieces from their portfolios in the Performing Arts Center Gallery, offering the JA community a window into a year’s worth of creative work, growth, and artistic discipline. On display this year are selected pieces created by Crystal Gao, Ellie Morgan, Preston Perkins, and Justina Visgarra.
The Honor Council, made up of students who apply for the privilege of serving in the role, works alongside Faculty Advisor Sandra McKay to administer JA’s Honor Code, the student-led backbone of a system designed to uphold the school’s values both inside and outside the classroom.
Jackson Academy is proud to announce that the Rev. Wes Ingram ‘94, has been named the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, presented annually to a graduate who exemplifies a life of purpose and significance through professional achievement, community service, and loyalty to JA.
Families gathered at Jackson Academy twice last week to celebrate milestone moments for the Class of 2026 as the school hosted Ole Miss and MSU Scholarship Days. The events honored Jackson Academy seniors earning academic scholarships to the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University.
Ferris wheels, spinning rides, and roller coasters, all built by elementary students. Fourth graders in JA’s Lower School STEM program are immersed in one of their signature projects: a class-sized amusement park, engineered and assembled entirely by students.
