Congratulations to Lailaa Bashir for being named Metro Girls Athlete of The Week by The Clarion-Ledger. Laila (freshman) won both of her matches last week without dropping a single game. She finished the season unbeaten and didn’t drop a single set all year.

Four other Raider athletes were also named as top performers:
Price Sessums (junior) pitched a complete game and picked up his third win while allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in a 9-2 win over Washington School.
Gage Morgan (sophomore) won both of his No. 1 boys singles matches without dropping a set and finished 9-1 for the season.
Langston Anderson (freshman) won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.77 seconds and the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.91 seconds at the MAIS AAAA-Division 1 Meet.
Emma Lucas (sophomore) won the triple jump in the MAIS AAAA Division 1 Meet with a distance of 34 feet, 10.5 inches.
