Twenty-eight Jackson Academy students gathered at Parham Bridges Park on Saturday afternoon, October 4, for friendly competition with a philanthropic purpose—the SGA Pickleball Tournament benefiting the Jackson Free Clinic.
The tournament marked the finale of SGA’s first-quarter fundraiser supporting the clinic’s mission to provide healthcare to uninsured and underserved community members. Students signed up via email and paid a $15 registration fee, with proceeds benefiting both the clinic and tournament prizes.

History teacher and Assistant Tennis Coach Gage Morgan secured the courts and helped coordinate the event. Students selected partners and competed in a double-elimination bracket format—winners advanced to the next round while those who lost their first match entered a consolation bracket, ensuring everyone enjoyed maximum court time.
After spirited matches, Rimes Dehmer and Lila Thomas emerged victorious, each earning a $75 Visa gift card. SGA successfully raised over $250 through the tournament.
