For Senior Chapel each spring, the graduating students don their caps and gowns for the first time and, holding their Alpha and Omega friends by the hand, parade into their final chapel service. There’s nothing quite like the Alpha and Omega program. JA kindergartners have the opportunity to engage with people older than them, which provides priceless self-confidence, fun memories, and everlasting role models. Meanwhile, the seniors remember their experiences from elementary years and see the proof that they’ve grown into young men and women who are ready for the next chapter of their lives.
Kindergartners and seniors part ways at the PAC stage, bringing this program to a close. While their omegas watch from the auditorium seats, the alphas sing “Graduation” by Vitamin C, celebrating the lasting impact of friendship. Then, the kindergartners return to their classrooms while the seniors hear the final JA chapel service of their high school careers.
Wesley Rule ’15 delivered the final chapel message for the seniors. He challenged them to choose the right path when they face many decisions in the next four years of their lives. In closing, he left the seniors with a Bible verse to remember and live by. That verse is John 15:4, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
