Last Thursday, 20 students traveled to Columbus, Mississippi, to represent Jackson Academy at the annual MSMS Math Competition. After meeting virtually last year, the students were glad to be able to compete in person this year.
The competition features both individual and team tests, including ciphering competitions, written tests, a mini-interschool competition, and a potpourri round. Students can compete in the different categories of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, or Calculus. After competition-time, the event ended in an awards ceremony honoring individuals and teams.
