Cancer Kids First Club Receives National Recognition

Jackson Academy’s Cancer Kids First Club was recognized last week by the organization’s national board for club members’ impact and dedication in 2025. The club placed in the top 15 out of 100 clubs nationwide.

JA teachers encouraged their students to contemplate the foundation that King laid and how they will contribute to a world of justice and equality for everyone.

The bell that signals the start and end of class at Jackson Academy structures workdays for Roxie Hood. On the weekends and during school holidays, candle-making takes Hood out of that structure and into a creative world.
