Tickets, please! Fourth graders opened the gates to a one-of-a-kind amusement park for kindergarten visitors last Tuesday. Using K’NEX sets, fourth graders spent several weeks engineering functional rides, such as Ferris wheels, roller coasters, and swing rides, bringing concepts of physics, engineering, and design to life.
Wide-eyed and popcorn in hand, the younger students marveled at the park’s colorful rides and attractions, courtesy of their fourth-grade hosts who served up the snack to go along with the excitement. For the kindergartners, the visit was equal parts education and inspiration, a preview of the creative, hands-on learning that awaits them in Lower School next year.
For the fourth graders, it was something equally valuable: an experience that demonstrated what it means to work as a team, serve others, and teach, and just how much you can learn in the process.
