Three JA Athletes Head to Next Level

Jackson Academy held a college signing event for three Lady Raiders who intend to continue their athletic careers in soccer and volleyball. Addison Comer, Mary Grace Foster, and Lakin Laurendine, surrounded by teammates, coaches, family members, faculty, fellow students, and media members, signed for college scholarships on November 9 in the Learning Commons. 

Addison Comer – Soccer
Georgia Southern

She has been a varsity member of JA Lady Raider Soccer since the 8th grade and twice a State Champion (2018 and 2021). She was team MVP and Best Offensive Player in 2021, and this year she finished as the Best Offensive Player with a team best 21 goals and eight assists. 

Mary Grace Foster – Volleyball
Mississippi College

She has been a member of the volleyball program since sixth grade and has been a member of three straight state championships. This year she became the second Lady Raider to achieve the 1,000 assist milestone. She has received numerous other awards and honors, including the Raider Award.  She was also selected as an MAIS All-Star and named a AVCA 3rd team All American.

Lakin Laurendine – Volleyball
Auburn University

Lakin has been a member of the JA volleyball program for the last two years. Lakin finished her high school career with over 2,000 career kills and 2,000 career digs. She is the reigning Mississippi Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year and participated in USA High Performance A-1 camps. She is the Scorebook Live National Player of the Year and an AVCA 1st Team All American. She was named Stadium Talk and MaxPreps Player of the Year in Mississippi. She has also participated in the yearly Under Armour All-American camps.
