Jackson Academy seniors, sisters, and multi-sport athletes Emma and Elena Roberts, daughters of Colleen and Stan Roberts of Jackson, signed to play tennis at Mississippi College on Thursday, April 1. Elena and Emma have been mainstays in the JA athletic programs for their entire Upper School careers. They are both multi-sport athletes, participating in cross country, basketball, and tennis.
Elena is the No. 4 ranked tennis recruit in the state, and, as of January, she was ranked in the top 400 tennis players of the nation. On the tennis court, she is a four-time team champion as well as a three-time individual champion. With Lady Raiders basketball, she was a member of two 5A state champion basketball teams. Her signing, alongside twin Emma Roberts, marked the eighth and ninth athletic signings for the class of 2021.
Emma is the No. 1 ranked tennis recruit in the state and, as of January of this year, she was ranked No. 79 in the nation. She is a four-time team champion as well as a four-time individual champion in tennis. She competed in the 25K Challenger at River Hills twice, was on the MaxPreps First Team Tennis, and one of three representatives and MVP for Mississippi in the Southern Cup Tennis Championship. She was also a member of two 5A state champion basketball teams and was a member of the 2020 state 5A all-tournament team.
