New Members Inducted Into Cum Laude Society

March 25, 2025 / News Releases/Upper School/All News

Twelve Jackson Academy students crossed the Performing Arts Center stage today to receive the Cum Laude Society pin, indicating superior academic achievement. They joined previous students and faculty Cum Laude inductees of JA’s chapter, one of only four Cum Laude charters granted in Mississippi.

JA was first honored with a charter from the Cum Laude Society on May 12, 2005. The society admitted the school to membership based on an established record of academic excellence and a record of achievement and outstanding alumni performance, the 2005 Jackson Academy Reflections stated. The presence of a Cum Laude chapter at a secondary school is an indication that superior scholastic achievement is valued.

Cum Laude membership is a tremendous honor for each student selected. Those inducted challenge themselves to maintain high academic standards throughout their high school tenure. Cum Laude inductees exhibit strong GPAs, take the most challenging coursework that is offered at JA, and score exceptionally well on standardized college entrance exams.
