

Jackson Academy senior Natalie Roberson has excelled in academics, athletics, service, and leadership. On Thursday, the National Merit Corporation announced that she has been named a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.
With top standardized test scores and a strong GPA in Advanced Placement and honors courses, Natalie is among about 34,000 students nationwide commended for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 students who took the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors.
Natalie is active in extracurricular activities such as the Accents dance team, soccer, the Honor Council, and Student Ambassadors, among others. She was recently part of the award-winning Accent team that was named State Champions in both Kick – Large Division and Pom – Large Division after their wins at the MAIS Spirit Competition on September 10 at the Mississippi Coliseum.
The Jackson Academy Cum Laude Society, the National Honor Society, and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) have inducted Natalie into their honoraries. She has served as president of the NJHS and treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta, a mathematics honor society. An AP Scholar with Distinction, she is also a member of other national subject area honor societies, including science, English, Spanish, and social studies. Additionally, Natalie volunteers extensively through her church and community organizations. Congratulations, Natalie!
