JA Spirit Squads Earn Top Honors at MAIS Competition

Jackson Academy spirit squads delivered an impressive showing at the MAIS Spirit Competition on Wednesday, September 10, bringing home multiple championships and continuing long-standing traditions of excellence.

Raiderman secured the State Championship Mascot title for the fourth year in a row. The Accents earned first place in both the Kick and Pom Large Divisions, marking their seventh straight championship in Kick, back-to-back titles in Pom, and their second consecutive year to win both categories simultaneously. The Cheer Squad captured first place in the Tumbling Large Division, their third title in the past four years. The Silver Steppers also had a strong performance, placing Runner-Up in the Pom Junior High Large Division.

In addition to these team awards, 10 members of the Cheer Squad and four members of the Accents were named All-Stars. The Cheer All-Stars are: Ava Barbour, Madi Brewer, Rimes Dehmer, Katherine Gault, Chappell Lang, Shelby Olier, Caroline Quin, Harkins Simpson, Julia Thompson, and Lila Thomas. The Accents All-Stars are: Lucy Jones, Sara Kate Long, Olivia Price, and Natalie Roberson. With these accomplishments, Jackson Academy was recognized as the MAIS 4A Overall Spirit Competition Winner for 2025.
