Pumpkins with Pops Celebrates Father Figures

November 3, 2026 / Preschool/All News

The Activities Building was full of smiles and creativity as JA’s Class of 2039 welcomed their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and special father figures to campus for the annual Pumpkins with Pops event. Pumpkins with Pops has been a Lower School tradition since 2012, and it was created to give kindergartners meaningful one-on-one time with the important men in their lives. Hundreds of JA families have shared in this tradition, and some of the first kindergartners to decorate pumpkins with their pops are now in high school!

In the middle of busy schedules, a morning spent laughing, creating, and working together on a project shows children how much they’re loved and valued. Side by side, kindergartners and their guests turned plain pumpkins into one-of-a-kind creations. Once their masterpieces were finished, families enjoyed donuts and coffee while admiring the designs around the room.

It’s a simple way to strengthen the bond between kindergartners and their father figures, and it gives families a chance to share in their child’s school day.
