Crystal Gao has been named a semifinalist in the prestigious Coca-Cola Scholars Program. She is among just 1.1 percent of applicants nationwide to advance to this stage of the competition, joining 17 other Mississippi students in this achievement.
As a semifinalist, Gao will now complete a comprehensive second application that includes detailed information about her academic record, community service, volunteer work, and employment history. She must also submit multiple written responses, a letter of recommendation, a secondary school report, and her official transcript.
From the semifinalist pool, the program will ultimately select 150 Finalists to receive $20,000 scholarships. Beyond the financial support, Coca-Cola Scholars gain entry into a vibrant national network that offers lifelong connections, professional development opportunities, and access to career coaching.
