Jackson Academy will celebrate Jan Sojourner’s final season leading the Lady Raiders with a special day and evening in her honor on January 28. The head girls basketball coach is completing a stellar 45-year career as the third-winningest girls basketball coach in Mississippi history. This season will complete 40 years at JA of her 45 years of coaching.
Activities will include the following:
- Students, faculty, and staff can wear a JA jersey to school on Jan Sojourner Day.
- A morning pep rally will recognize Coach Sojourner.
- The Little Dribblers, JA’s second-graders who display basketball-handling skills during routines set to music, will perform at the pep rally.
- On the evening of January 28, special recognition will occur at the completion of the varsity girls game with a reception to follow in the mirror room upstairs inside the gymnasium.
