Faith in Action
We explore life’s most important questions through a Christian perspective, rooted in the belief that true learning comes from nurturing and developing our minds, bodies, and souls.
Faith, learning, and life are inextricably linked. To participate in the life at JA is to accept an invitation to live out Christian values in every action we take — in the classroom, the chapel, and through service to those in our community.
Students of all faiths are welcome at JA, although we encourage our students to deepen their relationship with Christ and make it their own through discussion and exploration, volunteer service and service learning, and spiritual discovery.
Chapel
Chapel is the heart and soul of spiritual life on the JA campus. Upper School and Middle School students attend four required chapel services per year, as well as additional optional chapel services, while Lower School students attend chapel once per month.
Refresh Fridays are hosted every week during lunch in the Performing Arts Center for girls in ninth through twelfth grades. Upper School girls bring their lunches and join JA parent Amy Bates and guest speakers for a time of fellowship and a quick study to be REFRESHED by the Word of God.
Boys in ninth through twelfth grades are invited to take part in Boys Bible Study each week. Upper School boys hear messages from peers as well as outside guests and faculty members.
Community Service
At JA, we serve God by serving our neighbors, particularly those in need. The JA Service and Learning Plan integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen our community.
SOAR Program
SOAR opportunities help students focus on ethics, faith, and leadership through experiential learning outside the classroom and leadership and involvement in the community.
JA is not just a school where academics are taught in the traditional sense. JA is a place where children are safe and they are encouraged to develop the gifts that God has given them. And in developing those gifts that God has given them they’re able to learn how to live a life of purpose and how to live a life of significance.
