Jackson Academy is doing something new this year for our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive!
There are many children in our area who eat two meals provided by their school every day because they don’t receive enough food at home. On days that they don’t have school, these children may struggle to find enough food to eat. Jackson Academy is partnering with Kroger and local charitable organizations to provide nutritious, nonperishable meals and snacks for them to enjoy over the Thanksgiving holiday!
Grocery bags will be distributed to Preschool and Lower School students on Monday, November 11th, and to Middle and Upper School Students on Tuesday, November 12th. Fill the bag with non-perishable, kid-friendly meals and snacks (suggested items are included with the bag) and return your bag and/or cash donation by Friday, November 15.
Community Service Club members will be at the Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School carpool lines to collect bags and/or donations. They can also be delivered to the Grade Level Offices or first period classrooms.
Service Club Members will sort the food donations, consolidate bags, purchase food with donated money, and fill any remaining bags. They will then distribute the bags to the organizations.
Our goal is for everyone at JA to participate in some way, whether you choose to fill the bag completely, bring a few items, or make a cash donation!
