Students Focus on Faith and How to Be Hands of God

As the school year opened, each student had a morning time to pause to worship and spend time diving into the word of God. Last week, Upper School and Middle School students joined in the Performing Arts Center for their first chapel of the year to hear from Assistant Baseball and Softball Coach JG Miley. The next day, Lower School students gathered to sing songs and hear a few words from Head of Lower School Sarah Love.

Upper School is starting a chapel series on faith and what it can mean in our spiritual journey. Coach Miley shared about what it means to have complete trust or confidence in God. He focused on Hebrews 11:1, which says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” He shared how having complete trust in God can be invaluable to your spiritual journey.

Lower School’s chapel series is about how to be the hands of God. Sarah Love focused on Psalm 90:17, “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!” She encouraged students to think about how they use their hands each day and challenged them to think of ways they can use their hands for God’s purposes throughout the year.
