Softball Team Helps Family in Need at Thanksgiving

December 3, 2013 / Athletics/All News

The JA Softball team rallied together for a worthy community cause at Thanksgiving. Team members gathered food, crayons, and coloring books for a needy family that consisted of a single mom taking care of six children, four of whom she has taken responsibility for in response to absent parents from other families. Some JA players got together and delivered the items to the very grateful family. A touching moment was when the oldest boy saw the crayons and coloring books and remarked, “Wow, these are our first new crayons ever.”

JA Softball has occasional skill sessions and practices. Girls in grades 5-11 who are interested in softball need to contact coach Aimee Plunkett (aplunkett@jacksonacademy.org) to be notified of the next skill session or practice or to find out more about JA Softball.
