The Raider Network, JA’s broadcast team, clinched the Best Live Event category at the Southeast Regional Student Production Awards on March 23 for outstanding coverage of the Jackson Academy vs. Jackson Prep junior high football game. During junior high contests, JA students orchestrate the entire broadcast under the direction of faculty and staff.
Bryan Eubank, who played a pivotal role in guiding students through their sports broadcasting class, reflected on the experience. “They fully deserve this accolade for their hard work. The students’ engagement and eagerness to learn about broadcasting was inspiring,” he said. “Leading the broadcast class was a real highlight.”
A trophy commemorating this significant achievement will be displayed in the Tech Center, symbolizing the students’ dedication and skill. Students can also keep a piece of this success with the option to purchase their own trophy.
Notably, this award comes from an organization closely associated with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, known for the Emmy Awards. This connection underlines the importance and prestige of the students’ accomplishment, emphasizing their contribution to the standards of excellence in broadcasting.
“This recognition is a testament to the talent within our school and serves as an inspiration to all,” said Chief Technology and Strategy Office Eddie Wettach. “Congratulations to the students involved and the Raider Network for this outstanding achievement!”
