Jackson Academy’s Raider Network recently acquired a 36-foot production truck to enhance the school’s live stream and event production capabilities. Raider Network currently streams programming for athletics, performing arts, and various on and off-campus events.
The production truck expands the capabilities of the Raider Network team. Students will gain professional-quality production experience beyond what JA has offered previously, said Sports Information Director and Voice of the Raiders, Bryan Eubank. “Currently, JA students who take our broadcast classes run the entire production of junior varsity football, basketball, and baseball games,” Eubank said. “Beginning this semester, we will be able to train additional students during varsity games due to the increased space and capabilities of the 36-foot production truck.”
New features of the production truck include a dedicated audio room and two replay stations that will afford more replay angles. Raider Network will likely use six to seven students per game during varsity games. Students will run cameras, conduct replays, operate the scoreboard, and serve as parabolic mic operators.
“Providing JA students professional quality broadcast experience through their classes and Raider Network helps students in at least two ways: They get a taste of what a career in broadcast entails, and they are sought after in the job market once they complete their college education,” said Head of Technology Eddie Wettach. “We couldn’t be happier to add the new production truck to this experience for our students.”
Raider fans are invited to tour the new Raider Network truck tonight during All Sports Night at 6 p.m. Masks will be required to enter the Raider Network truck.
