Jackson Academy theatre students are experiencing a unique opportunity this school year. Students debuted an original one-act play, “We Shall by Morning,” written by JA’s Director of Theatre Arts Kerri Sanders. They have performed the play at various competitions receiving rave reviews and numerous awards. This Friday, Thaxton Studios will film the play. In addition, students have received accolades for individual and group performances of varied theatre categories.
The Theatre Department invites students, family, and friends to the Performing Arts Center this Friday, March 3, at 3:30 p.m. for the final performance and recording of “We Shall by Morning.”
Thaxton Studios is producing an hour-long documentary on this original one act play. The film will include the complete performance and interviews with Kerri Sanders and selected students about the origins and development of this wonderful production. Students, family, and friends are encouraged to attend for an enthusiastic audience is key to a great filming process.
The capturing of the play may be interrupted, or parts restarted to obtain the best possible performance by the actors, clean sound, and close-up camera work. The audience’s patience is requested during this exciting way to relive this unique endeavor and share it with many others through the finished film.

Band & Encore Showchoir Orlando Trip
The Jackson Academy Band and Encore show choir are preparing for a trip to Orlando the first weekend of spring break. Encore will compete in Fame Orlando, a show choir competition (view details online). The band will perform in the Main Street Parade at Disney World. We are proud of our outstanding performers!
