Congratulations to Lady Raiders soccer for winning the team’s second title in the last three years. They beat Jackson Prep 2-1 in the MAIS DI State Championship.
The Lady Raiders met Jackson Prep at 6:00 p.m. Monday night in the MAIS DI State Championship at MRA. Fans wore powder blue to the game to show their support. The first 75 JA Upper School students to attend the game received free entry courtesy of JA and the JA Booster Club.
In the semifinals at The Brickyard last week, the Lady Raiders used a second half surge to defeat Hartfield 2-0 to earn a spot in the championship game for the seventh straight year against Jackson Prep. After defeating Prep for the championship, the Lady Raiders finished the season with a 13-6 overall record. Coach Buffington secured his fourth state title at JA (2 girls, 2 boys).
