For the third consecutive year, the JA Ducks Unlimited (DU) Club has earned the title of top high school chapter for the state of Mississippi and claimed the coveted Duck Bowl trophy.

Ducks Unlimited State Chairman Scott Forrest recently announced the results of the 2022-23 DU Duck Bowl held annually between Jackson Academy and Jackson Prep. Once again, breaking the previous year’s JA club record, this year’s JA efforts increased the fundraising total 20 percent over the previous year to raise an impressive $48,935, edging out the competition to win the top prize.

Congratulations to all of this year’s JA DU club members and to this year’s chairman Cruise Nance and co-chair Newell Eatherly for an outstanding year of fundraising and conservation efforts for Ducks Unlimited. They will represent JA and be recognized for all of the club’s efforts at this year’s state convention in July.  Special recognition to seniors Cruise Nance and Adams Kennedy for each receiving college scholarships from DU for 2023. JA’s 2023-24 DU Club chairman will be Newell Eatherly. We look forward to seeing what next year will bring from this impressive group of club members. Go JA and Go Ducks!
