For the fourth consecutive year, the JA Ducks Unlimited Varsity Chapter has earned elite status among high school chapters from across the nation. Earning the top spot and the coveted Duck Bowl trophy for Mississippi the past three years, the JA chapter has just been ranked No. 1 in the nation for 2024!
Once again, breaking the previous year’s JA chapter record, this year’s efforts increased their fundraising total 15 percent over the previous year to raise an impressive $57,438.00.
Accepting the national honor at the DU State Convention in Starkville in August were all of JA’s past chairman along with this year’s incoming chairs. The chapter wishes to thank all of those who have led the group in achieving this impressive ranking and to thank Newell Eatherly for his outstanding leadership in fundraising and conservation efforts for Ducks Unlimited this past year.
From planning their Annual Fall Banquet and gaining sponsorships to selling commemorative merchandise and promoting this year’s Garth Brooks DU “One Night Only” Concert in Las Vegas, this year’s chapter is ready to defend their national ranking.
