For the third time this year, Jackson Academy had a banner day for the Class of 2022 on December 15 as two more seniors signed papers that will allow them to continue their academic and athletic careers next year at Mississippi State University and Mississippi University for Women. Chandler Anderson and Dakota Jordan were the eighth and ninth student athletes to sign college commitments this school year. Both students play baseball and look forward to the start of their final season with the Raiders in just 35 days.
Chandler Anderson is the son of Henry and Chandra Anderson. Chandler began playing baseball when he was five years old. He has been a part of the JA Baseball program for the last five years. Chandler was awarded the Defensive Player Award for the Navy Team in ninth grade. Chandler signed to play baseball at MUW where he plans to major in Communications and Sports Management.
Dakota Jordan is the son of Carolyn Jordan. He started playing baseball at a young age in the Canton Parks and Rec League. He was a part of five different travel teams and is looking forward to his first season with the JA Raider Baseball team this spring. He played in some amazing showcase tournaments over the years, including Connie Mack Baseball World Series, USA Baseball, and the Perfect Game All-American Classic in San Diego this past August. He received the MVP award in Junior High Boys Basketball and Track and received the Varsity Baseball Silver Slugger Award. This football season he also set a new record for most receiving yards in a season with 877 yards and finished second best in receiving touchdowns with 10. He signed to play baseball and football at Mississippi State University where he plans to major in Sports Management.
Congratulations again to these students, and thank you for how you represent Jackson Academy on and off the court. Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors!
