Christmas Provides Examples of a Life of Service

December 20, 2022 / All News

At Christmas, thoughts turn to others in the spirit of giving. Jackson Academy seeks to foster this spirit of caring for others year-round. The school provides ample opportunities for students to participate in service. JA encourages but does not require service hours. The intent is that students will develop a desire to be of service to others for a lifetime.

This season, Lower School students participated in a canned food drive for We Will Go Ministries and designed tray favors for UMMC hospital patients. Middle School students prepared gifts for Operation Shoebox for Samaritan’s Purse. Upper School students collected funds for Big House Books, filled 65 gift requests for four foster families in the Jackson area through a Giving Tree, and ninth graders put together 200 treat bags for students at Dawson Elementary.
