For the past four years, the broadcasting class at Jackson Academy has produced a commercial for the JA Campus Store, and this year was no different. The class produced a holiday-themed ad for the store for the month of December.
This semester the class is in the process of creating a new television ad campaign for Albriton’s Jewelry, the official jeweler of JA. President of Albriton’s, Cameron Albriton ‘04 came to campus and allowed the class to interview him about the background of Albriton’s and what he would like to see featured in a commercial.
“I was approached by Bryan Eubank about the possibility of having his students create a TV ad for Albriton’s Jewelry as part of their class project,” Albriton said. “I thought it was a great idea and opportunity for the students to get some real-world experience in producing an ad, while giving my business some updated marketing materials. I appreciate Bryan coming up with this project for his students, and I firmly believe that introducing students to real world projects/jobs is one of the best ways to educate and prepare them for life after school. I’m excited to see what ideas they have, and I look forward to working with them to turn those ideas into reality.”
JA class members share that sentiment. “We are very excited about our upcoming advertising project for Albriton’s,” said senior Dev Sharma. “This will be Albriton’s first TV commercial since their move out of Highland Village, and we are honored to be producing it.”
Sports Information Director Bryan Eubank, who co-teaches the broadcasting with the Tech Center’s Josh Hinkle, said this is a resumé-building experience for these students. “This group of students has been the most active group I’ve taught since we began the class,” Eubank said. “The majority of them are active members of The Raider Network so they have a ton of experience in filming and editing. They now will have something else to add to their resumé. I am so appreciative of the long relationship Albriton’s has had with Jackson Academy to allow this opportunity.”
The class will be shooting footage in the store during the next couple of weeks and will have the commercial featured on The Raider Network soon.
