Three JA band members have been honored with spots on the 2017 Mississippi Lion’s All-State Band, which travels internationally each summer for competition. Claire Ross, Alexander Schott, and Bryant Thaxton will join other musicians from across Mississippi as they represent our state and their school. Bryant earned first chair in tuba, Alex earned second chair in trombone and Claire earned third chair in dance. Congratulations! ‘Meet the Raiders’ Spotlights 2026–2027 Athletic Teams
The Brickyard was packed Tuesday night as the JA Athletic Booster Club hosted "Meet the Raiders," the annual tradition that officially kicks off the Jackson Academy athletic year. Fans of all ages came out to meet their favorite players, collect autographs, and grab posters before settling in for a family-style pep rally featuring the band, spirit squads, and the introduction of every 2026–2027 athletic team. It was a great night to be a Raider.
Sophomores Through Seniors Attend Area College Fair
Jackson Academy students in tenth through twelfth grade attended the Jackson Area Independent Schools College Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum on Lakeland Drive.
