Jackson Academy’s youngest learners experienced the magic of storytelling on Friday when three theatre students, dressed in costume, visited K3 classrooms to read “Click, Clack, Boo: A Tricky Treat!” by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.
The special visit aligned with the K3 curriculum, as students were studying the letter “C” for the week. The costumed readers helped reinforce students’ understanding of how the letter appears in different words, from the repetitive “click” and “clack” sounds in the story’s title to the key concepts of “costumes” and “characters” the readers represented.
The collaboration between Upper School theatre students and Preschool classes exemplifies JA’s commitment to cross-divisional connections, where older students serve as mentors and role models for younger learners. This kind of purposeful integration—where curriculum objectives meet creative presentation—helps JA students discover that learning can be both educational and entertaining.
