Dear JA Community,
It is a pleasure to welcome you and your children to Jackson Academy for another school year. A new beginning offers possibilities for wonderful things to come for our K2 through twelfth graders, and our faculty and staff are honored to do our part in creating an exceptional learning environment for your children’s education and growth.
In the next few weeks, division heads and other campus leaders will write articles for the Tuesday Raider about notable changes to our Student and Parent Handbook. Policy items that they will highlight continue to reflect our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, a cornerstone of JA’s identity as a college preparatory school in Jackson and as a leader in independent schools in the Southeast. These policy changes, designed during the summer, aim to enhance the academic focus of our students and reinforce a college preparatory climate that is conducive to learning and preparing students for the life ahead.
While parents review and acknowledge receipt of the handbook each year, this year we would like to highlight certain areas of the handbook including:
- Uniform Guidelines and Student Appearance
- Eligibility for Involvement in Extracurricular Activities
- Cell Phone/Electronic Devices Policy
- Requirements for Graduation
- Policy on Commencement
- Additional AP Offerings and Dual Enrollment
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy
- Honor System and Honor Pledge
- Tuition Assistance
We are truly grateful for the trust and support you continue to show by entrusting us with your children’s education and growth. We pledge to you that our days are devoted to creating an environment that fosters exceptional learning in JA’s curricular and co-curricular programs. JA is committed to remaining one of the premier independent schools in the Southeast and a respected school that models best practices within the MAIS. We are honored to have you as part of this exceptional community!
Go Raiders!
