Polar Express Sweeps 600 to North Pole

On a chilly Thursday evening, Jackson Academy transformed its halls into a magical wonderland for its Polar Express Preschool Christmas Open House. The air was filled with laughter and excitement as hundreds of children, from toddlers to four-year-olds, eagerly explored the festive scene inspired by one of their favorite holiday movies. Nearly 600 people took a ride on the Polar Express.

Seeing falling snow, an oversized reindeer atop the school, a train and train tracks, and several life-size deer set the tone for the enchanting experience ahead. Children’s eyes widened with delight at the larger-than-life polar bear, snowman, and gingerbread cookie, (actually Upper School student volunteers in character costumes) who beckoned them for hugs and photos. The atmosphere buzzed with joy as families wandered through stations with activities for the children and delighted in the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

As the little ones made their way through the festivities, friendly Polar Express train conductors treated them to delectable Crumbl cookies. Along with the cookies, each child received a nativity ornament kit to make at home and a small plush polar bear, cherished keepsakes to remind them of this special day.

One of the highlights of the evening was time with Santa Claus himself. Children stood in line, anticipating their turn to sit on Santa’s knee and share their Christmas wishes. After their time with Santa, children and their families received boxed dinners filled with delicious delights.

The Polar Express Preschool Christmas Open House was a resounding success, filled with warmth, laughter, and appreciation for the Christmas season. The magic of the holidays had come to life at Jackson Academy. The Jackson Academy Association coordinates the event with assistance from JA staff.
