Many grandparents of Middle School students traveled to JA Thursday to get a glimpse of modern school life…and to remember their own school days. They cheered at a JV pep rally where they participated in a Hula Hoop contest. Grandparents toured campus, seeing the changes in education since their younger days. JA faculty member Castlen King-Rogers presented “Connecting to Literature,” a fascinating look at how literature informs and shapes our lives. Grandparents saw a preview show from the cast of “Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure.” They attended the new Middle School building dedication ceremony, and enjoyed lunch with their grandchild.
Highlights of the day were the Scholars’ Bowl Expo between competitive students and brave grandparents, plus a grandparent and student panel discussion with questions from sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.
