Ten contestants took to the platform to compete in the school’s National Geographic Geography Bee last Friday. Selected from grades fourth through seventh, the students answered questions like “Located on the Mississippi River, Saint Paul is the capital of which state?” Daniel Luzardo took third place, leaving seventh graders Bailey Berry and Benjamin Watson to compete in the championship round. Both contestants missed the first of three questions in the final round and answered the second correctly. Benjamin Watson earned first place on the final question, correctly answering that Darién National Park is located in the Central American country of Panama. Congratulations to Daniel, Benjamin, Bailey, and to all of the contestants!
