Jackson Academy students have the opportunity to learn about the performing arts as a form of communication within both cultural and historical contexts. Students not only receive formal classroom instruction in Theatre, but also learn technical skills with which to express themselves. The program aims to introduce students to a lifelong appreciation of theatre as a means of personal and cultural representation.

Jackson Academy secondary students have the opportunity to study Theatre as an elective. In this class, students learn the basics of theatre history, acting, directing, staging, and theory. Students prepare monologues and scenes to hone their talent and also participate in the school musical.
