Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Jackson Academy community came together in a big way to support local families during the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. About 200 students campuswide supported this effort by providing food and funds to fill 582 large grocery bags. Over $900 was collected. The bags will be distributed to area families whose children eat two meals provided by their school. On days that they don’t have school, these children may struggle to find enough food to eat. Jackson Academy partnered with Kroger and local charitable organizations to provide nutritious, nonperishable meals and snacks for them to enjoy over the Thanksgiving holiday!

JA Service Club members sorted the food donations, consolidated bags, purchased food with donated money, and filled remaining bags. They will deliver the bags to the participating organizations Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. All students and parents are welcome to help deliver. To join the group, meet at the PAC Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at 3:15 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided. The bus leaves at 3:45 p.m. If you prefer to meet the group at the delivery locations, the schedule Wednesday is Operation Shoestring at 4:00 p.m. and Neighborhood Christian Center at 4:45 p.m. On Thursday, the delivery location is Bethlehem Center at 4:00 p.m.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in this worthy service to families of our community!
